Will Smith has taken part in a march against violence in his home town with his actress wife Jada Pinkett Smith.

The actor and rapper marched in West Philadelphia to raise attention about the violence in the city, which had nearly 400 killings in 2005 and it’s likely the total will be even higher this year.

“We’re going to take this walk, hopefully draw a little attention to the problem and get some solutions,” Smith said as he walked with local officials and members of the community. Last week’s violence was so intense that the ‘Philadelphia Daily News’ called for the National Guard to patrol the streets.
