Britney Spears is ready to splash out almost $30 million on a new home. The singer, who is selling the Malibu property she shared with estranged husband Kevin Federline for $13.5 million, reportedly wants to buy a place in Florida for more than twice that amount.

Britney, 24, is said to be looking around Miami at properties costing up to $29 million.

The “Toxic” singer is considering performing a series of Las Vegas shows to help pay for the new house. Britney is reportedly negotiating a 20-week, $15 million exclusive performance contract with the Palms Hotel and Casino.

A source told America’s Star magazine: “This makes sense. The people who own the Palms are long-time fans of Britney and are eager for her to perform there. The deal is worth a fortune.”

Britney surprised fans by presenting the Best Female Soul R’n'B Artist Award at the American Music Awards (AMAs) (11.21.06).

She wore a low-cut cream knee-length dress and was also sporting new long blond hair extensions.

AMA presenter Jesse McCartney said: “She looked great. She got back on the horse, in my opinion.”
